Oscar Elías (Salta, Argentina, 1968), in 1987 he moved to Buenos Aires to pursue his law studies at the National University of Buenos Aires. Two years later he began to combine his studies with his training in photography at the Avellaneda School of Photography. During that time, he attended various workshops, such as Alberto Goldestein (Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas), or Demaría Gustavo Molinari (UTPBA).
In 1991, he left college to devote himself exclusively to the press photography, working with different media like magazines Apretura, Tercer Sector, Latido, Acción, T & S, and in the newspapers La Nacion and Perfil. At the same time he performed some individual exhibitions at different art galleries such as La Margarita and Juanamanuela in Salta and the Cultural Center San Telmo in Buenos Aires. One of he highlights was the one that took place in public buses, in Buenos Aires City, Un mundo de veinte asientos (A twenty seat's world), which portrayed the human landscape in the buses.He also participated in groupal exhibitions at the Exhibition Hall of the OEA (Buenos Aires), the Museum of Science and History (Texas, USA), International Word Herritage Photo (Leverkusen, Germany) and the Centro Cultural Recoleta (Buenos Aires).
In 2000 he settled in Barcelona (Spain). Since then, as a freelance photographer, he has published his work in numerous Spanish magazines and newspapers like Hachette Filipachi, GYJ or Grupo Zeta, El Pais and El Periodico de Catalunya.
As a founding member of the journalistic content AMEDIA Agency in 2002, he began to focus his work in travel journalism in Spanish journals (Rutas del Mundo, Traveler, Geo, Altaïr) and abroad (In Viaggio, Bell'Europa, Terminal A), as well as in other areas of journalistic photography, working in media and publishing specialist literature (Revista Qué Leer, Editorial Seix Barral and Alfaguara), economics (Emprendedores, Capital) and history (Clio).
